Tell us a little bit about your family: Married with 4 kids

What is your favorite memory/(memories) from FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:

I remember having both right-wing rabbonim but also dancing on Yom Haatzmaut. Nobody pushed against it. There was an openness and letting people feel hashkafically open to where they want to be. They allowed for all opinions on the frum spectrum. Skokie taught me to love all Jews wherever they are. 

I loved Ramzag, he had great enthusiasm and love for Adar. It still resonates with me today. Rabbi Schuman gave me freedom to be who I wanted to be. Rabbi Weiss was intense but also great. He taught me a wide spectrum of meforshim. Rabbi Segal was quirky but was so inspiring. Everyone had their own flavor. 

Please share a lesson/takeaway from your time at FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:

Skokie is welcoming to all Jews. You came in and left with so many friends. We had a great camaraderie. Anyone that goes to Skokie can become a part of the Chevra.

Advice for current students:

Work hard and try to accomplish many things in High School. Take leadership roles in items such as bigdei yisroel, the shpiel, wherever you connect. It will help you going forward. Take advantage of the various opportunities that they offer, only gets tougher as life goes on.

Anything else to share:

Make sure you come away with one mesechta or sefer that you feel connected to and grow in that. Find what speaks to you and hold onto it!
