Hebrew Theological College (HTC) is proud to celebrate Dr. Chani Tessler, Vice Provost of Touro University Illinois and Dean of the Sarah Hartman Women’s College of Touro, for presenting two sessions at the prestigious 2025 Ruffalo Noel Levitz (RNL) National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia with Drs. Jenelle Hodges and Goran Trajkovski of Touro University.
The conference, held July 22–24 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, gathered higher education leaders from across the country to explore the latest strategies for student success, retention, and institutional innovation. Dr. Tessler’s participation showcased HTC’s and Touro’s commitment to forward-thinking, technology-driven education.
Session 1: Embracing the Future: AI as a Catalyst for Connectivism Learning Ecosystems
This session examined how artificial intelligence is transforming the way students learn. Drawing on the principles of connectivism, the team demonstrated how AI-powered tools—such as adaptive learning platforms, intelligent tutoring systems, and real-time collaboration technologies—can foster deeply networked, personalized learning experiences.
Session 2: Build-a-Future: Redefining Academic Writing and Admissions in the AI Era
In the second presentation, the presenters addressed the rapidly evolving role of AI in academic writing and admissions. This session encouraged institutions to shift from reactive approaches—such as detecting AI misuse—to building integrity-driven systems that leverage AI to enhance creativity, personalize writing support, and uphold academic rigor. Ethical considerations and equitable access were central themes, as the presenters challenged institutions to embrace AI as a tool for empowering authentic student voices.
Dr. Tessler was grateful to present with these outstanding colleagues at this year’s RNL National Conference. This work reflects the high caliber of scholarship and leadership that define HTC. We are honored to have her guiding our Women’s College and representing our institution on the national stage. We look forward to the continued impact of this work in advancing innovative, student-centered education practices in recruitment, retention, student success, and digital transformation. Dr. Tessler’s participation highlights Touro University Illinois’s leadership in advancing forward-thinking, technology-enhanced educational strategies.
