Graduating Year: 2009
Current Location: Efrat, Israel
Profession: Economist at the Israel Securities Authority.
Actually had an interesting path. Went to mechina for a year and a half after arriving in Israel. Served as an officer in the armored corp then went on to study economics and business administration. Worked for two years as a staffer for the deputy minister of defense but afterwards pivoted back to economics: 2 years in the Israel capital markets authority and now going on 4 at the Israel Securities Authority. For me, it’s really interesting how I ended up here: my grandfather worked his whole life at the SEC, and now, after realizing the dream of coming to Israel, I’m working at its parallel in Israel.
Tell us a little bit about your family:
Married with 3 kids, ages 7, 5 and 3. Two boys and a girl.
What is your favorite memory/(memories) from FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:
Thursday night mishmar was great. Nothing is better than midnight cholent. Seudat Shlishit at the Yeshiva was so special. Erev Shabbat and game nights were fun. The weekends in general were the best, those were the times where we’d stay up until 3 in the morning just talking about life and philosophy. Purim was a huge highlight, especially when RAMZAG would go crazy during megillah when Haman gets hanged. Senior trip also. A great way to top off 4 great years. I just have so many good memories.
Please share a lesson/takeaway from your time at FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:
I think being in the Yeshiva helped me improve my critical thinking. Never assuming, always questioning. This has helped me throughout my life.
Advice for current students:
Make aliyah!
