Graduating Year: 1995
Current Location: West Hempstead, NY
Profession: I'm an attorney handling personal injury and a variety of civil litigation matters. In 2019, I had the privilege of being admitted to the bar at the Supreme Court of the United States!
Tell us a little bit about your family:
I'm married and have a son who is a lone soldier in the IDF. I also have two stepdaughters - one in high school and one in college. And of course, we have two cats.
What is your favorite memory/(memories) from FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:
Academically, I loved Mr. Hein’s Biology class. I also loved Rabbi Segal's class and even visited him in Israel recently. I also went to Lakewood and saw Rabbi Weiss. I still feel connected to the Rebbeim. I also have fond memories of decorating the school for Purim and sledding on the lunchroom trays in the winter.
Please share a lesson/takeaway from your time at FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:
I can't point to one moment, but I know the 4 years I spent in the Yeshiva helped shape me into who I am today. I did note that the way Rabbi Segal treats his students was special. He takes time to listen to questions and answer them. His teaching style was collaborative and not adversarial. It wasn't teacher vs. student but rather teacher with student.
Advice for current students:
Take a deep breath, slow down, and get perspective on where you are now, as it will seem later on. Put yourself in your shoes in 20-30 years and appreciate these times now. Of course, that’s easier said than done.
