Graduating Year: 2011
Current Location: Fair Lawn, NJ
Tell us a little bit about your family: I’m married to my wife, Avigayil, and we have three children — Elisha (7), Jesse (6), and Nina (2).
Profession: Director of Finance for DocRite, where we provide eyecare and podiatry services for nursing homes across the East Coast
What is your favorite memory/(memories) from FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:
The relationships I built — with both rebbeim and friends — stand out the most. There was a unique balance of learning and genuinely enjoying the experience, which made those years especially meaningful.
Annual class shabbatons at Camp Chi, ski trips and Friday “Gym class” at the JCC live rent-free in my head.
Please share a lesson/takeaway from your time at FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:
It taught me what it really means to be a mensch — to care about others and to carry myself with responsibility and integrity. Having Rabbi Weinberg for three of my four years made a lasting impact, and I developed a strong appreciation for learning Torah in a way that was both meaningful and enjoyable.
Advice for current students:
Learn from your rebbeim — they have a tremendous amount to offer, not just in learning but in life as well. There’s a lot to gain from their experience beyond the classroom. And if you have the opportunity to learn from Rabbi Haskel, don’t take it for granted.
As a dormer, some of the friends you make along the way will be your close friends many years down the road.
Highly recommend taking Mr. Hayes and Rabbi Cardash for math - they really attempted to make it fun!
