FYHS seniors kicked off this year’s Names, Not Numbers Holocaust documentary program with a series of engaging and meaningful sessions. Rabbi Aaron Leibtag, FYHS Menahel, introduced the program, followed by a presentation from its founder, Mrs. Tova Rosenberg, and a screening of a past interview with Holocaust survivor Moshe Avital.

Students also heard from HTC Rosh HaYeshiva Rabbi Moshe Revah, who delivered a thought-provoking session on Emunah and Bitachon during the Holocaust, and Mrs. Regine Schlessinger, an accomplished WBBM News radio reporter and Yeshiva grandmother, who shared valuable interviewing techniques to help students prepare for their upcoming survivor interviews.

Throughout the year, students will deepen their understanding of the Holocaust and have the extraordinary opportunity to meet Holocaust survivors, hear their personal stories, and conduct filmed interviews. These interviews will ultimately be compiled into a documentary, preserving the survivors’ experiences and ensuring their stories are passed on to future generations.

Stay tuned for more updates as this meaningful program progresses throughout the year.
