Exciting Additions to the HTC Kollel: Welcoming New Families and Renewed Torah Growth

HTC is thrilled to announce the arrival of four new families to our vibrant HTC Kollel: Rabbi Elisha and Zehava Kirshner, Rabbi Avi and Chava Vershleiser, Rabbi Shmuel and Miriam Esther Neuman, and Rabbi Tzvi and Baila Rifkind. These families, each bringing their own blend of warmth, dedication, and passion for Torah learning, are already making a significant impact. Their addition to the Kollel signals a new chapter of growth and commitment to Torah at HTC.

Under the guidance of Rosh Kollel Rabbi Yehuda Gordon, the HTC Kollel maintains a powerful Kol Torah, echoing throughout the Beis Midrash and beyond. This full-time learning Kollel is now home to twelve dedicated members who not only enhance the Torah environment on campus but also contribute to the greater Chicago community. The Kollel serves as both a center for advanced Torah learning and a support network for HTC’s students and community members.

Eight of our Kollel families reside on the HTC campus, serving as teachers, mentors, and role models. They engage high school students through learning programs such as night seder, mishmar, and personal study sessions, while also enhancing the Shabbos environment in the dormitory. In addition, the Kollel members offer regular chaburos to FYHS students, fostering strong bonds and a deeper commitment to Torah learning. Beyond campus, they are actively involved in learning partnerships with community members, extending the reach and impact of HTC's mission.

The learning focus this zman is on Maseches Pesachim, with each member learning first seder deeply immersed in a full time Iyun, and hoping to cover most of the Masechta for second seder. The Kollel aims to enrich the Beis Midrash experience and create lasting change both on and off campus. We look forward to seeing how these new families will inspire further growth and Torah excellence at HTC!
