What is your favorite memory/(memories) from FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:
The class trips were amazing, especially our senior trip to Arizona. I enjoyed how the Rebbeim encouraged great ruach and how they helped us foster amazing friendships. They helped us have frum, kosher experiences, which I appreciated.
Being on the basketball team was a really special experience. Even if I had to back up Shua Alswang! Shout out to coach Sid Singer! He put in a lot of time for the team, and we really appreciated it. He sacrificed a lot.
I loved Yamim Noraim at the Yeshiva. I still use some of those tunes today in my role as a chazan in my shul in LA. Specifically tunes from Rabbi Kutner.
Shavuos was also really fun. We got drummets, and the food was amazing. The ruchniyus and gashmiyus were both great.
Please share a lesson/takeaway from your time at FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:
Camaraderie and friendship were important, even for the guys who were asked not to come back to the Yeshiva. We really got a feeling of a full Jewish experience. Especially for guys from different backgrounds who did not come from frum families. Skokie guys had great gemara skills and were well prepared for life.
Advice for current students:
When you walk the halls, it's a living hall of fame of rebbeim, faculty and staff who have so much to offer. Take advantage of it.
