As we begin another school year at Fasman Yeshiva High School, we continue to advance our curriculum and offerings for our students so that they can get the most out of their yeshiva high school experience.
NEW IN LIMUDEI KODESH AND GENERAL STUDIES
As part of our enhanced Limudei Kodesh Curriculum overseen by Rabbi Sheinfeld, we continue to update our curriculum and are excited to introduce a new Tefillah curriculum as part of our afternoon seder, as well as a streamlined Chumash and Tanach curriculum. In our general studies department, we have adjusted this years afternoon schedule to allow for additional time in many of our AP courses. We are also expanding our course offerings to include new courses such as AP Physics 1 and Business Math. Additionally, under the guidance of Rabbi Zucker, our Academic Services Coordinator, FYHS is working together with both REACH and M2 learning to provide Academic Services for students in need.
NEW EXTRACURRICULAR OFFERINGS
In addition to Thursday Night Mishmar, we are excited to present several other extra learning programs both during the week and on Shabbos, both in Maseches Sukkah (with the intention of finishing the masechta) and in other topics. This coming year we will also be offering a brand-new Robotics club, as well as a Mathletes competition.
LAPTOP INITIATIVE
In order to further enhance and advance the education at FYHS, this coming year every student will be issued their own Chromebook to be used for the duration of their high school career. We will be utilizing the Go Guardian Filter which will be functioning inside and outside of school. Additionally, over the course of the year, students will be guided and instructed on how to use technology in a safe and effective manner.
BUILDING AND GYM RENOVATIONS
For the first time in 100 years, our Yeshiva will have a gym of its own on campus for our students and campers to play sports throughout the day and for our basketball teams to compete on their home court! Baruch Hashem our indoor gym facility is nearing completion and will be available for students to use Sukkos break. The gym will also serve as a community gym for alumni and community partners. We are also continuing to renovate our classrooms, offices, stairwells, bathrooms and hallways in the high school building. Special thank you to the Rothner family for their lead gift to make the gym a reality.
