Hebrew Theological College is pleased to welcome Mrs. Nurit Siegal as Assistant Dean of Sarah Hartman Women's College of Touro at HTC (SHWCT). Mrs. Siegal fills the role being vacated by longtime assistant dean Mrs. Rita Lipshitz, who is retiring in the fall. In this capacity, Mrs. Siegal will oversee student admissions, registration, transcripts, enrollment and progression, and assist with recruitment and student life programs and offerings, while also supporting the dean in fiscal, administrative, and academic arenas.
Mrs. Siegal comes to HTC with nearly 15 years of experience as an accomplished educator, writer & public speaker. She has authored more than 100 articles on a wide range of topics for Jewish women, including mental health and motherhood. She has conducted interviews with various women professionals, entrepreneurs, and non-profit directors, and has been published in numerous national outlets. More recently, she authored multiple articles on antisemitism in the aftermath of October 7th.
As an educator and lecturer, Mrs. Siegal has worked with groups for Jewish women to discuss topics such as meeting the challenges of the modern world and understanding/addressing philosophical criticism of traditional Judaism. In collaboration with Haredi leadership and communities in Eretz Yisrael, Mrs. Siegal has assisted in grant writing to fund women programs geared towards health and safety.

After earning a degree in political science from the University of Michigan, she attended the University of Chicago to pursue her master's degree, writing her thesis on the history of antisemitism in liberal political thought and its impact on religious Jewish communities. "Mrs. Siegal has established herself as a writer and speaker with integrity and sensitivity," added Dr. Tessler. "She approaches every day with a growth mindset, and we know she will help instill those values in our students."
"I'm excited to join Sarah Hartman Women's College," said Mrs. Siegal. "I know our students are incredibly driven and motivated, and I can't wait to help each of them along their journey."
